Tecno emphasizes the camera in the Camon series. This can be seen in the large design of the back, but also in the four integrated sensors, each with a resolution of 50 MPix. The main camera is equipped with the Sony IMX890.

In addition to the main camera, Tecno has installed an ultra-wide-angle camera and a periscope camera with triple optical zoom. Tecno also relies on a chip dedicated to image processing (Sony CXD5622GG), which should guarantee better results, especially for night shots.

In fact, images and videos look particularly impressive in bright light. The images have good dynamic range and are very sharp. The ultra wide angle camera can also be used for macro shots and the results are impressive. The zoom lens also gives good results, but in combination with digital enlargement the sharpness decreases significantly.

Images are usable in low light, but they are no longer really sharp. Video recordings are possible with all lenses at a maximum of 4K and 60 FPS. The video stabilization works well, as does the autofocus and lighting adjustment.

The front camera also offers a resolution of 50 MP. Portraits are generally reliable, individual hairs push the software to its limits. Overall, the camera offers plenty of software features such as a “super night mode”, time-lapse, slow motion, AI effects for portraits and augmented reality. A Pro mode is also available, in which exposure time, ISO sensitivity, white balance and focus can be selected manually.
