Hisense is entering the art-imitating TV market with a new product, the CanvasTV. This matte screen TV is designed to serve as a piece of digital art when not in use. The concept may sound familiar – it’s similar to Samsung’s The Frame TV, but it’s priced significantly different.

Here’s what we know

The 55-inch and 65-inch CanvasTV models are priced at $999 and $1,299, respectively. Despite its lower price, the CanvasTV features a 4K QLED display with anti-glare technology, like its more expensive competitor. It also offers a 144Hz refresh rate for smoother images, an auto-dimming sensor, and 2.0.2 multi-channel surround sound.

CanvasTV comes preloaded with different artworks in Abstract, Modern, and Renaissance styles. Users can easily switch between these works and their photos using the “Art Mode” button on the remote control. The TV even has a motion sensor that turns off the screen when the room is empty, providing additional energy savings.

CanvasTV comes with a wall mount and teak frame. To vary the pleasures, interchangeable frames in white and walnut are available separately. CanvasTV will be available in stores this summer.
