A true hero: Luis Suarez saves a man’s life in Uruguay – All football

Luis Suarez is not a player with a very positive image. However, he behaved like a hero in Uruguay this Friday.

Luis Suarez (37 years old) is currently on vacation, the MLS being in truce between the 2024 and 2025 seasons. Back with his family in the country, in Uruguay, the Inter Miami striker made the headlines in the local newspapers for a truly heroic, this time off the field.

The Uruguayan newspaper Telenight reports that a 49-year-old man was perched in a tree and intended to put an end to his players, when Luis Suarez intervened to try to dissuade him. “Luis Suarez approached and we tried to argue emphatically so that he would stop his actions,” relates a member of a social unit present on site.

After long hours of discussion, the man finally came down from the tree where he remained perched for nearly 20 hours. The police then took over from the ex-Uruguayan international, whose legendary status in the country can be assumed to have influenced the individual’s decision.

The Uruguayan press specifies that this person wanted to end his life after being convicted by a court in a case of domestic violence. Luis Suarez probably prevented an even more dramatic ending to this already sad story.
