That’s it: the Jean Butez file is at what seems to be its final twist. The French goalkeeper will not sign for Lens as we thought, but in Serie A!
These last few days have been real twists and turns for Jean Butez. The French doorman, on a siding in Antwerp since last summer, was looking for a way out and seemed to have found it just beyond the border. Everything seemed settled for him to replace Brice Samba, who was leaving for Racing Lens.
But the native of Lille will not return to the North of France. The Brice Samba file has indeed become complicated, a real game of fools (and agents) which has complicated things, leading various reasons to be mentioned so that the transfer of Jean Butez is left pending (alleged injury to the hand, price too high…).
Finally, Antwerp and the player turned towards another exit door. Or rather: have reactivated a track already mentioned before Lens held the rope. This track is Como, currently 16th in Serie A, which will indeed offer itself the former highest-rated goalkeeper in the Jupiler Pro League.
Sacha Tavolieri, who has been following the case since its beginnings, announced this Sunday that an agreement has been reached for a transfer worth 3 million euros, and a contract until 2028 awaits Jean Butez in Como.
Butez, who had to be content to play the Croky Cup (and a few matches in D1 VV) this season at Antwerp, finally makes his transfer, and the Great Old receives a correct amount for a player still rated at 4 million euros per Transfer market.
