Pierre Boulez and Luciano Bério, Philipp Glass and John Cage, Keith Jarrett… And even David Lynch! The repertoire explored by the artists invited to Autresmeasures looks great.
A bold program tailor-made for the 10th anniversary of the Festival, which continues to conquer Rennes’ exhibition venues. Like the Opera, the Antipode or the Conservatory chapel, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Frac Bretagne will serve as a setting for a dozen original musical proposals.
The Köln concert, a masterpiece on a journey
International ensembles and renowned artists are preparing to sweep the infinite spectrum of contemporary music: instrumental or vocal, acoustic or electronic, tonal or atonal, written or improvised…
In 2024, 3,500 spectators were tempted by programming that was often free and sometimes invited to wander between the works of art.
Concerts, conferences, screenings, musical theater, DJ Set… At the Museum of Fine Arts, Jozef Dumoulin will push the limits of the Fender Rhodes, this emblematic keyboard of the 1970s. Fanciful and wild, the piano works of Pierre Boulez and Luciano Bério, will ring true in the Conservatoire chapel, on the occasion of the centenary of the two composers. At the Blosne Conservatory, Erwan Keravec and eight bombarde and bagpipe players will perform the “First classics” of Philip Glass, which gave birth to minimalist music.
The highlight of the festival is Melaine Dalibert’s tribute to jazz pianist Keith Jarrett and his famous “Köln concert”, 50 years later.
You can’t improvise, book your tickets!
From January 10 to February 2, Museum of Fine Arts, Champs Libres, Rennes Opera and other places. Programming, it’s over here.
