While the future of national coach Domenico Tedesco is uncertain, Hans Vanaken continues to delight every week in the Club Brugge jersey.
Degryse et Boeckx encensent Vanaken
The 32-year-old midfielder is undoubtedly one of the most consistent players in our championship. Some are therefore surprised that the Bruges player is never included in the selection. This is particularly the case of Marc Dergyse. The former Anderlecht player does not understand why Vanaken is being snubbed like this.
“He’s a super consistent player. I think people don’t realize how good he is.” Former Anderlecht goalkeeper Franck Boeckx agrees: “Every week he shows how good he is. Recently he played a Champions League match in which he completed 97% of his passes. So Yes, not all of his passes were difficult to complete, but it still shows what a good player he is.”
A 3rd Golden Shoe
Vanaken is the big favorite to win the Golden Boot this year. This would be his third of his career. But unfortunately for him, this is not enough for him to have a guaranteed place in the national team. He only has 23 caps with the Devils.
