Qatar is officially organizing the next Arab Nations Cup between December 1 and 18, 2025, as announced by the Olympic committee of this Gulf country this Tuesday, January 1.

The body also announces that the competition will be held in the stadiums of the 2022 World Cup.

The 2025 Arab Cup is being held under the aegis of FIFA, as was the case during the previous edition, organized in the same country between November 30 and December 18, 2021. It was won by Algeria.

Morocco was then represented by the national team of local players, joined by players playing mainly in Egypt and the Gulf.

A competition that puts more pressure on the calendar

What raises questions is the choice of the dates of the competition. Because the 2025 African Cup of Nations, the most important competition on the CAF calendar, is held from Sunday December 21, 2025 to Sunday January 18, 2026 in Morocco.

In 2021, Africa was represented in the Arab Cup by Morocco, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Mauritania and Sudan, while Libya, Comoros, South Sudan (guest), Djibouti and Somalia failed to qualify.

How will these teams approach this schedule? And which teams will they choose to field in Qatar?
