Ivan Demidov has been excellent lately.

He was able to collect no less than five points in his last two games, and that coincides oddly with the fact that he now plays on the first line of his team.

Result? The Canadian prospect was named forward AND rookie of the week in the KHL:

This sends a relatively clear message to Roman Rotenberg.

Make me play… And I will do everything to help you win.

It’s been five games in a row that he has played more than 14:50 or more and during this period, the Canadian’s hope claims 10 points.

He is having the best moments of his season and his club has won four of these five matches.

When Demidov has playing time to show off, SKA is successful…

In December, Lane Hutson was voted NHL Rookie of the Month. Demidov and Hutson are proving that the future is rosy for the Canadian!

But what allows everyone to be really excited about seeing him arrive in Montreal is above all the way in which he collects his points.

He scores magnificent goals, he is able to serve his teammates in the offensive zone… And often, that results in some pretty unique highlights.

We saw him do it in his last two games and it’s a reminder of how creative he is with the puck:

Watching him go, it’s easy to believe that Demidov has the talent to quickly become an impact player in the National League.

It’s certain that he will have to adapt to the NHL game because the rinks are smaller… But he is so intelligent with the puck that he should get used to it relatively quickly.

Remember that at the time of writing, Demidov has collected 31 points in his first 40 games of the season with SKA Saint Petersburg.

He’ll be one to watch between now and the end of the calendar, though… Because he’s on fire right now.

And to see the KHL recognize his recent performances is interesting too.
