It’s official: after three seasons under the colors of Castres Olympique, Nick Champion De Crespigny will bid farewell to the Tarn club at the end of this 2023/2024 season. Or at the end of the final between Toulouse and Bordeaux this Friday evening in Marseille.

The Australian third row, appreciated both for his performances on the field and for his team spirit, decided to return to Australia to continue his career.

Since his arrival in 2021, De Crespigny has quickly established himself as a key player for Castres Olympique with 43 starts in 48 matches. With his robustness and determination, he contributed to numerous club victories and knew how to win the hearts of Castres supporters.

Despite an offer of extension from the CO, Nick chose to answer the country’s call. A decision that was undoubtedly not easy to make. However, the goal of one day wearing the Wallabies jersey appears to be the main driving force behind his return.

As a reminder, the next edition of the World Cup will take place in Australia in 2027.. Before he can hope to play at international level, the third row will first have to find his place within one of the Australian Super Rugby franchises.

CO supporters will undoubtedly have fond memories of Nick. His tackles, his physical presence and his unfailing dedication will remain etched in their memories.

For the moment, the Tarn team has not announced any third row in its recruitment. Second lines Jedrasiak and Ducat have signed from Clermont and Pau as well as Baget from Bayonne. Nakosi was not preserved just like Hounkpatin, gone to Montpellier.
