Tadej Pogacar will start his 5th Tour de France in a row, this Saturday June 29. The Slovenian, who stacks up prestigious victories and exploits, will see one of his records stagnate on the evening of the 1st stage of this Tour de France 2024 (June 29-July 21).

Face of cycling and Tour de France for 4 years, Tadej Pogacar (25 years old) is a real machine. Even though he has been ahead of him for 2 years by Jonas Vingegaard on the roads of Tourthe double winner of the Big loop in 2020 and 2021 continued to establish its dominance over the rest of the entire peloton. Several classes above the others, the Slovenian has collected victories and seized certain records, including an incredible current series which will end this Saturday.

Tadej Pogacar at the top of a ranking for 3 years and 10 months

Pogacar holds the record for the greatest number of best young people’s titles, with four white jerseys worn on the final podium at Paris. The training leader UAE Team Emirates ahead of the German Jan Ullrich (from 1996 to 1998) and the Luxembourger Andy Schleck (from 2008 to 2010). In addition to this record, the winner of the Giro 2024 maintains an ongoing series of almost 4 years.

Even more impressive, Tadej Pogacar is the undisputed leader of the ranking of the best young person in the Tour de France since September 11, 2020. No other rider has taken the lead in the ranking offering the white jersey since that date. That day, the Slovenian, then aged 21, took part in his first Big loop and had obtained his first stage victory on the Tour de France five days ago at Laruns. On the evening of September 11, 2020, he seized the white jersey then worn by Egan Bernaland never let go, except by proxy to wear yellow.

The double dolphin of Jonas Vingegaard made the white jersey his property for three Tour de France and a half, and spent the entire last three in the lead, from the first to the last day. We no longer count the little blue trophies sponsored by Rats in the Slovenian Museum. It is likely that a few are missing. Now in its 26th year, Tadej Pogacar is no longer eligible for the best young person ranking. On the evening of the 1st stage of Tour de France 2024 this Saturday June 29 at Riminione lucky person will wear the white jersey and succeed Pogacar at the top of the ranking for best young person. The battle already promises to be fierce to pocket this tunic.
