Benjamin Le Ny is giving up the cycling tour of Martinique this year. The USL member, who finished 3rd last year, announced his decision yesterday on social networks. His goal ? Furthermore, the selection of Guadeloupe for the tour of Martinique was revealed by the cycling committee: 6 starters and 3 replacements.

Certainly, the Guadeloupe Regional Cycling Committee would like to repeat the results of last season: 3rd in the Cycling Tour of Martinique, winner of the Caribbean Championship, the Tour of Guyana, without forgetting the Tour of Guadeloupe.

This is why the selection was brought together very early. Her first outing will be the Tour de Martinique, from July 7 to 14, 2024.

Franck Duro thus retained Jérémy Deloumeaux from the JCA, Meving Gène and Mathieu Pellegrin from the CSCA, Axel Taillandier from the Madras team, Damien Urcel from the Vélo Club Capesterre Belle-eau (VCCBE) and Benjamin Le Ny from the USL.

Three replacements are named: Anaël Mathias from EDS, Raphaël Lautone from the Madras team and Taïno Cailliau from CSCA.

It is now known that Benjamin Le Ny declined the selection. He does not want to do two rounds in a row. Last year, he did not start the Tour de Marie-Galante. This season, at the insistent request of his club, the USL, he will be there. Depending on the runner, you have to know how to make choices.

Another cyclist could therefore join the selection, at the end of the Etincelle cycling Grand Prix, from June 28 to 30.
