It’s a popular lifeline every summer: the UNFP (National Union of Professional Footballers) organizes its traditional pre-season training course (June 24 – August 8) for professional players who no longer have a contract.
A period, punctuated by several friendly matches against Ligue 2 teams, which aims to keep players in shape so that they can quickly find a contract. This year, some great names are at Clairefontaine like Vincent Koziello who shone in L1 in Nice in 2016 or Nicolas Bénézet, the former Guingamp player who often experienced the elite in his career.
A former Ivorian international
We also find Florentin Pogba who played at Saint-Etienne or more recently Sochaux, Cheick N’Doye, the former Angevin who helped Red Star climb to Ligue 2, Jonathan Kodjia, Ivorian international striker (27 caps, 11 goals) who played in D2 then in English D1 at Aston Villa or even four Concarnois recently relegated to Ligue 2.
The staff is also made up of members without clubs: Damien Ott (ex Avranches) will be the coach, accompanied by Jean-Jacques Pierre (former Haiti coach).
