Kylian Mbappé admitted that he didn’t really like his reaction following a duel with Robert Lewandowski during the last match.

On the eve of the French team’s match against Belgium in the last 16 of the Euro, Kylian Mbappé appeared before the press. The French captain notably spoke about his nose injury and the fact that he is exposed to attacks from his opponents.

“It is a possibility yes, he acknowledged. “The moment you play with a broken nose, you become a target. I knew what I was getting into, but this is not a new situation. I could be called upon to take the blows.”

Mbappé ready to risk his nose

Mbappé was already hit in the face in the last match against Poland. It was during a duel with the opposing star, Robert Lewandowski. He reacted by insulting the Barça striker and today he regrets it: “He didn’t do it on purpose. My reaction was more instinctive, out of pain. We’ll have to try to control ourselves in the future because children are watching.”

While he promises to hold back in the event of a collision, Mbappé says he absolutely will not do so if it means coming into contact. “I’m ready to give everything for this jersey. If someone has to touch my nose and we’re in the quarter-finals… In any case, I’m not risking anything worse.”
