OM: A percentage of Vitinha’s transfer into the pockets of… Braga!

OM managed to sell Vitinha to Genoa while limiting the damage with a transfer of around 20 million euros. But Pablo Longoria is careful not to say that Braga will receive part of this sum…

Vitinha arrived at OM in the winter of 2023 with the distinction of being the club’s biggest transfer. To the 25 million euros of the fixed transfer proposed to Braga, Pablo Longoria added 7 million euros in various bonuses. A file worth 32 million euros that the Portuguese striker has never managed to justify under the Marseille colors. Loaned to Genoa, Vitinha has not yet done better in Serie A. However, the Italian team has decided to buy him, permanently. And for several days, the media have been reporting a miracle operation by Pablo Longoria…

OM saves the furniture, really?

OM and Genoa have reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of Vitinha. A fixed amount of 16 million euros, or half of its purchase value for 2023… Olympique de Marseille will almost certainly receive two million euros in additional bonuses, or 18 million euros at total. In addition, the operation provides for four million euros, but there, the conditions are more complex to fulfill, unless Vitinha is literally a hit. At best, OM will recover 22 million euros, or 10 million euros than its purchase price. However, the majority of supporters consider that Pablo Longoria saved the furniture. Except that there is one last clause of the contract to respect…

Braga a encore 10% !

When formalizing the historic transfer of Vitinha, the Braga club communicated this (and it is still on the Portuguese club website): “Braga also retains 10% of the added value of a future transfer of Vitinha and a buyout option of 60 million euros. In other words, of the 18 million euros of the deal, almost two million will go into the pockets of… Braga. The two million euros in bonuses which made the resale of Vitinha “acceptable” will ultimately not be for OM.
