Big blow for Australia. While the summer tour is about to begin, the Wallabies have just lost fullback Kurtley Beale, victim of a ruptured Achilles tendon. The latter is obviously out of Australia’s test matches against Wales in July, as announced by the Wallabies on Monday, July 1st. But above all, this serious injury makes the continuation of his career uncertain, at 35 years old. Thus, Kurtley Beale could well have to end his career after suffering this very difficult injury.

Beale towards the end of his career?

The 35-year-old full-back “will undergo surgery today (Monday) and we wish him a good recovery”, as we can read on the Australian selection’s Instagram account. After three years of absence, the Western Force (Super rugby) fullback was back in the Wallabies squad for the two test matches against Wales next month. The former Racing 92 player may therefore have to say goodbye to professional rugby following this terrible injury. Before the first test match against Wales, scheduled for July 6, Australia also indicated that it will have to do without its center David Feliuai, for “personal reasons”, according to Wallabies management.
