Justin Gill scored a hat trick to help the Drakkar defeat the Cape Breton Eagles 5-3 on Friday in Baie-Comeau and take a 2-0 lead in their NHL playoff semi-final series. junior hockey Maritimes Quebec.

Justin Poirier scored and added three assists in the victory. Isaac Dufort also made the red light shine, scoring the winning goal in the third period. Charles-Édward Gravel stopped 24 shots.

Cole Burbidge, Charles-Antoine Lavallée and Xavier Daigle found the back of the net for the Eagles. Nicolas Ruccia also rejected 24 shots.

Daigle gave the Eagles the lead again with 3:33 remaining in the second period. It was a fourth goal for the defender in the current series.

Gill completed his hat trick with 12 seconds left in the period. Poirier collected his second assist of the game on the goal.

In the second period, the Eagles saw their forwards Angelo Fullerton and Lucas Romeo be punished for five minutes, in addition to being ejected from the game for a check from behind.

Fullerton was chased at 5:11 and Romeo saw his game end with 3:06 remaining in the period.

The Drakkar dominated 14-6 in shots in the second period.

Dufort scored the winning goal on the power play in the second minute of the third period. He then got an assist on Poirier’s insurance goal, his 12th of the series.

Voltigeurs Advantage

Vsevolod Komarov scored on the power play, scoring the winning goal in the third period, and the Drummondville Voltigeurs defeated the Victoriaville Tigres 2-1.

The Voltigeurs took a 1-0 lead in the semi-final duel.

Both goalkeepers had a strong game. Nathan Darveau blocked 34 pucks for the Tigres, including 20 in the third period. For the Voltigeurs, Riley Mercer made 36 saves.
