Now that the casting of the heroes is complete and filming is approaching, a big question arises: who will play the big bad guy in the “Fantastic 4” reboot, scheduled for July 2025?
The horizon of the Fantastic 4 is becoming clearer and clearer. Postponed several times, the reboot now has a director (Matt Shakman, who distinguished himself on WandaVision), a release date (July 23, 2025) and a cast: Pedro Pascal will be Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby and Joseph Quinn Sue and Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach Ben Grimm, aka The Thing.
The talented Julia Garner will also be there, in the guise of a female version of the Silver Surfer, and Paul Walter Hauser has just joined the little gang in an unknown role. A big question remains today: who will be the villain of the film? In every sense of the term.
If there was once a question of Galactus, also called “the devourer of worlds” (and Javier Bardem to play him), the balance today seems to be tipping towards Dr. Doom (or Fatalis in French), friend who has become the nemesis of the quartet, according to the latest rumors.
The presence of one obviously does not prevent that of the other, but a scooper claims today that the interpreter of Doom will be chosen by the start of filming, scheduled for the month of August. And that three actors are in the running for the role.

According to what Source? We do not know. Perhaps his, as suggested by Internet users who deny his comments in comments. This is certainly not the first time that the name of Cillian Murphy, Oscar winner last March thanks to Oppenheimer, has been mentioned on the Web. But this is more fan casting than real information.
Just like Ben Affleck who, moreover, perhaps had his dose of superheroes after having been Daredevil and Batman. Finally, Mads Mikkelsen was announced in negotiations with Marvel last December, by insider Daniel ‘RPK’ Richtman, who is not a model of reliability.
And nothing has changed since then, while the actors for the heroes were revealed on February 14. Not to mention the fact that the Danish actor has already played the bad guys in Doctor Strange, even if that is perhaps just a detail that the jokers “multiverse” And “variant” can be easily circumvented.
A key role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
So let’s hope to be fixed as quickly as possible, just to put an end to these unfounded rumors. But the choice of actor could be more complicated (or strategic) than expected. Since the ouster of Jonathan Majors, convicted of domestic violence, Kevin Feige is faced with two options: replacing him in the role of Kang, or changing the big bad of the MCU.
For the second option, the name of Dr. Doom comes up regularly, especially since the character has a key role in the comic book Secret Wars, which will serve as the basis for the sixth Avengers film scheduled for May 5, 2027.
His introduction in Fantastic 4 could therefore lay the foundations for the future of the MCU, and the choice of his interpreter will only be more scrutinized.
