Just a few days after its disastrous Coupe de final against (31-23), PSG suffered the law of Barcelona in the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League.

In his Coubertin room, Raul Gonzalez’s team, solid leader of the French Championship, initially held on, in the wake of the successful start to the match by Parisian goalkeeper Andreas Palicka (two penalties, no goals conceded, Aleix Gomez disgusted) before taking the lead thanks to the offensive contribution of the Norwegian Tonnesen and the Dutchman Steins.

PSG led 10-7 then 14-11 at halftime. After having +5 balls, the Parisians saw Barça get back together and even go ahead 16-19, helped by the arm of Dika Mem and the Parisian ball losses. The end of the match was an ordeal for PSG, beaten 22-30.

Touched in the Coupe de France final, Parisian fullback Elohim Prandi was only able to last two minutes, the first, before being replaced by Nikola Karabatic, without ever returning to play. For PSG, the return match will be played next Thursday at the Palau Blaugrana. The Final Four will take place on June 8 and 9 in Cologne, Germany.
