Good news for the “ Health Mag », which will finally be back at the next school year. It’s Stéphane Sitbon-Gomez, the director of antennas and programs at France Télévisions who assures this, in an interview published in the Tribune du Dimanche on May 5. “I saw that the suppression of the ‘Health Magazine’ had caused a stir. I understand the attachment to this historic France 5 program and we therefore finally decided to extend it. » he announced.
He also specified that the channel is working on developing a new formula for the show, in partnership with the teams at Newen, which produces the magazine. “Jimmy Mohamed will be alone in charge there every day. But Marina Carrère d’Encausse keeps the presentation of ‘Enquête de santé’ in the first part of the evening and we work with her on social documentaries. ” did he declare.
After 25 years of broadcasting, the cult show will end definitively in the summer of 2024
Announced last October, the initial decision to remove “Le Magazine de la santé” from the airwaves sparked strong reactions. We even saw a column signed by around a hundred personalities circulating, including the former French Minister of Health, Agnès Buzyn. “We, patients and their representatives, (…) cannot resolve ourselves to the disappearance (…) of this flagship public service broadcast, which has no equivalent on any other channel and which, for more than 25 years, has accompanied the French on a daily basis, including during Covid, to ensure its public mission of information and prevention. » could we read in the text published in Le Figaro.
More recently, it was Michel Cymes, historical host of the medical program who had a rant, deploring a waste. “I take the discontinuation of Health Magazine badly because it’s our baby. (…) There will therefore be no more health broadcasts other than public service events. (…) For the moment, we manage internally on a social level. It will still be 25 people who have worked with us for twenty-five years who will find themselves left behind. » he declared.
