A 24-year-old teacher was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexual assault of a child. Madison Bergmann was reported by the father of a student at River Crest Elementary School in Hudson, Wisconsin, where she worked. The man had been alerted by his wife, who had overheard a telephone conversation between their son and his teacher. On Wednesday, the man provided the management of the establishment with copies of damning messages between the young woman and the boy, aged 11.
In these exchanges, Madison Bergman told the schoolboy that she liked it when he touched her and that she took pleasure in “making out with him”. She also spoke of their numerous meetings in the classroom during the lunch break or after school. While searching the young woman’s bag, investigators found handwritten notes written to the victim: “I know we have a special relationship and that I love you more than anyone in the world, but I have to be an adult and stop,” she wrote in particular.
Asked about the text messages discovered by the student’s father, the teacher asked for a lawyer, writes the “New York Post”. During this interrogation, the young woman claimed that the victim’s parents had invited her to a stay in the mountains last December. And that it was following this skiing getaway that the mother had given him her son’s number. It is unclear how long Madison Bergmann had been abusing the schoolboy.
The American was suspended from her position during the investigation and is not allowed to come into contact with students, parents and teaching staff of schools in the region. “Learning that a staff member has engaged in alleged inappropriate behavior that breaks trust is deeply disturbing to all of us,” the school wrote in a statement sent to parents. According to her Facebook account, the teacher was to get married on July 27.
