Disappointed. Jordan Veretout lamented and spoke of “a professional error” after OL’s defeat (3-2) at home on Sunday against OM, despite a numerical superiority of eleven against ten since the exclusion of Marseille defender Leonardo Balerdi in the fifth minute.

“When you play eleven against ten and you’re leading, you have to know how to kill the game, take some security. It’s hard, because in the second half, they came into our camp three times to score three goals. It’s a defeat that hurts. We don’t have the right, it’s a professional error tonight,” he ranted to the media.
“We knew that when they were down, they would play on the counterattack. That was all they had to try to counter us. We left spaces and they knew how to take advantage of them. We are OL, we lead 1-0 with eleven against ten at home, we have to know how to keep the ball, keep it moving, we have to let them come to us and counter them. We entered the funnel and, in the end, we took counterattacks,” lamented the former OM player (2022-2024), signed by OL as a joker at the beginning of September.
“We had quite a few situations. It’s going to hurt our heads tonight but we’re going to have to forget this defeat because we start the Europa League on Thursday.
