While we expected him to return to action at the end of September with Stade Toulousain, during the clash against UBB, Antoine Dupont explained that he would not return to the field before “early or mid-October”.

On Saturday, he was decorated with the Legion of Honor by the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, with his teammates from the French rugby 7s team, on the Place de la Concorde during the grand parade of the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games. And the next day, the Olympic champion was at Ernest-Wallon to see his partners from Stade Toulousain garner a second success in as many Top 14 matches, against La Rochelle (35-27).
Still celebrated at the Capitol
And while he still hasn’t resumed training, and he doesn’t seem to be missed (yet) too much by the Toulouse armada, Dupont will return on Wednesday to a place du Capitole that he knows perfectly, where he notably celebrated his new titles as French and European champion a few months ago. Because the pink city will celebrate, from 6:30 p.m., its medalists at the Olympic and Paralympic Games, like Dupont, but also Léon Marchand, new star of world swimming and winner of four gold medals in the capital.
“Early or mid-October”
The opportunity to extend the party for Antoine Dupont before putting his overalls back on, which will ultimately not return on September 29, for the remake of the last Top 14 final against UBB. “Soon”, he answered on Canal+, on the sidelines of the Toulouse match against La Rochelle, when asked the date of a return to the field which he envisages for “early or mid-October”: “I don’t have many holidays left, I’ve already had a lot. I won’t be long in returning to training and in the coming weeks return to the field.” He could therefore start his season on Saturday October 5 in Castres, or a week later against Clermont. Unless he waits until the weekend of 19-20, with a trip to Pau on the program.
