And to compensate in particular for “the costs linked to funerals and justice”, an online fundraiser was opened in support of the family of the deceased Yvelinoise. “This prize pool, the only one authorized by the relatives of Philippine Le Noir de Carlan, is intended to help her family, in particular for funerals and legal costs,” is written in the description of the prize pool. “The family wholeheartedly thanks all those who showed concern and compassion in this tragedy,” it is further specified.

Investigation opened for rape and homicide
On September 21, the body of Philippine, a student at the University of Paris-Dauphine, was found partially buried in the Bois de Boulogne, in western Paris, during a search carried out in the afternoon. It was her family who reported her disappearance when the young woman had vanished the day before at lunchtime, at the university located very close to the woods.
After more than 72 hours of tracking, a 22-year-old suspect, Taha O., was arrested Tuesday evening in Geneva (Switzerland) by the Swiss police. This is a Moroccan national, whose DNA was found at the crime scene, and who was already known to French justice for a rape committed in a wood in Taverny (Val-d’Oise) in 2019 while he was a minor.

While an extradition request will be sent to the Swiss judicial authorities to hand over the person concerned by an obligation to leave the territory (OQTF), an investigation for rape and homicide is now open in Paris.
