11h57 : We are at the heart of the action with Adrien Fourmaux who is preparing before aiming for 3rd place in this race.

Rally Poland classification, SS17:

General classification :

Sunday ranking:

Ott Tänak easily won this special. Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota) controls his lead at the head of the event. The ranking remains almost identical to the previous special, except that Andreas Mikkelsen lets his teammate Thierry Neuville slip into 4th position.

“I drive slowlyMikkelsen indicated. We just need to get the car to the finish, given what happened earlier this morning. We were unlucky when we hit a curb, like Elfyn Evans did on Saturday. »

SS18, Mrągowo Commune 2 – 20.80 km, is scheduled for 12:20.

10h34 : Adrien Fourmaux finishes on the heels of Ott Tänak. He preserves his 3rd place overall. “We tried to take care of the tyres because the surface is quite abrasive. I’m happy with my time, at the beginning I struggled but I got into the rhythm afterwards. It’s a great Sunday!”

10h25 : On a special which will serve as a Power Stage from 2 p.m., Thierry Neuville fails 9 tenths behind Ott Tänak. “I did my best. It’s a challenge when you have to sweep the road on Friday, it’s hard to work on the car set-up. We will have to work on a lot of things for the next round, because the situation will be relaxed.”

10h13 : The special begins with Ott Tänak firing on all cylinders. His goal is to win Sunday’s stage in order to limit the damage to the championship, he who retired on Saturday afternoon.

ES16

10h01 : He was 4th in WRC2 last night, but Irishman Josh McErlean will not go further than SS16 this morning after an accident in the last corner of the special!

SS16 ranking:

Rally Poland 2024 standings after SS16:

Is Rally Poland already over? Then 2nd, a handful of seconds behind the leader Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota) on the evening of the 2nd stage, Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) lost almost a minute following a puncture on the right rear wheel. The Norwegian falls off the provisional podium!

« We hit the side of the road and it knocked a wheel off. We were trying to put pressure on Kalle to keep his pace, but that’s part of the game. Now it doesn’t matter, we just have to make sure we reach the finish.”

Kalle Rovanperä is now comfortable leader with 3 stages remaining. Elfyn Evans (Toyota) moved into 2nd ahead of Frenchman Adrien Fourmaux (M-Sport Ford). Latvian rookie Martins Sesks (M-Sport Ford) loses a place to Thierry Neuville (Hyundai). The best time was set by Ott Tänak (Hyundai) who rode without any pressure for results in the general classification (he did not finish Saturday’s stage).

In WRC2, 2nd place is now held by Robert Virves (Skoda) ahead of Oliver Solberg (Skoda). Frenchman Pierre-Louis Loubet (Skoda) also gained a position and finds himself 4th.

SS17, Mikołajki – 11.20 km, is scheduled for 10:05 a.m.

9:38: Andreas Mikkelsen is now 4th overall. We hit the side of the road and it knocked a wheel off. We were trying to put pressure on Kalle to keep his pace, but that’s part of the game. Now it doesn’t matter, we just have to make sure we reach the finish.”

9h34: Big disappointment for Andreas Mikkelsen, who has just had a flat tire! The Hyundai is driving slower. The Norwegian is falling in the rankings! Adrien Fourmaux (M-Sport Ford) takes advantage of this to move up to 3rd, and Elfyn Evans (Toyota) is now 2nd!

9:30 : We offer you the tire choices for this morning. Mikkelsen took a hard tire unlike Rovanperä, who only relied on softs to attack!

9h27: It was expected, Martins Sesks (Ford) lost his 5th place in the general classification to Thierry Neuville at the end of this ES. The Latvian rookie still had a remarkable event even though he has no experience of Rally1! “It was very slippery. We stayed calm, there’s no point in panicking. The aim of this passage was to gauge the level of grip. Everything is fine.”

9h24 : Ott Tänak put the turbo on. Nobody seems able to beat him, not even his teammate Thierry Neuville, relegated to 12 seconds! “I’m going at my own pace, I can’t do more at the moment.”

9h19 : In addition to the uncertainty over the rally winner, the prospect of stage(s) being stopped remains a hot topic in Poland. Spectators were very unruly on Friday and Saturday. Our special correspondent met former rally champion Michèle Mouton to explain the context. An article to read here.

9h10 : The special started with Ott Tänak (Hyundai). The 2019 world champion had preferred to give up during the Saturday stage to better prepare for Sunday. The Estonian was no longer in the running to score points after an encounter with a deer.

9h : Here is the starting order for the morning.

8h57 : We offer you the best moments of Saturday’s stage in pictures:

8:53 a.m.: Hello to all rally fans! The final stage of Rally Poland will include four stages starting at 9am.
