La Petite Merveille (LPM) in Durbuy: Marc Coucke and the Maerten family will now follow separate paths

This Monday, July 1st, LPM (La Petite Merveille) Holding announces a major change in its structure. LPM Holding and LPM Events will now follow separate paths.

Indeed, Alychlo, Marc Coucke’s investment company, is taking all the shares that the Maerten family had in LPM Holding. Let us recall that LPM Holding consists of Durbuy Adventure Valley, le Sanglier des Ardennes and Durbuy Golf Resorts. The press release specifies that the starred chef, Wout Bru, present since the beginning of the adventure in Durbuy, remains involved as a shareholder in LPM Holding.

At the same time, the Maerten family acquired 100% of the shares in LPM Events, which includes the children’s camp and nature school activities, as well as 100% of the shares in Durbuy Music, which offers music recording studios and writing camps in the heart of nature. The Maerten family is thus taking over the business where it all began for them 60 years ago in Durbuy.

A new phase

Let us also recall that, since 2016, Wout Bru, Bart Maerten and Marc Coucke, via his investment company Alychlo, have been investing together in Durbuy. “With this strategic split, LPM Holding and LPM Events will each follow a separate path and continue to make a unique contribution to the Durbuy region. LPM Holding will continue to focus on investments in hospitality and leisure, while LPM Events will focus on organizing children’s camps. Both parties remain 100% united in their passion for Durbuy and their commitment to further developing the region.”the press release further specifies.

Bart Maerten: “A return to the sources”

“With my family, we had to make a choice: either write all our future stories together with Wout and Marc, or go back to what started it all for us: LPM Events. We chose to go back to our roots and we are infinitely grateful to our partners for making this return possible.”Bart Maerten said in the press release.

As for Marc Coucke, he thanks the Maerten family in the same press release: “I cannot thank Bart, his wife Nicole and his entire family enough. Thanks to our joint efforts, we have achieved a lot in Durbuy […] We still have many beautiful dreams to realize. Together with Wout and under the leadership of our CEO Benoît Bronckart, we will continue to undertake with passion.”.
