Sédhiou, June 28 (APS) – The regional consumer council (CRC) adopted on Friday the new prices of certain consumer products, noted the APS.

Broken rice is thus set at 420 FCFA per kilogram, crystallized sugar at 600 FCFA per kilogram while the price of a liter of refined palm oil is set at 1000 FCFA. A 110 g loaf is sold at 100 FCFA, and a 200 g loaf at 175 FCFA.

The ton of cement is set at 85,000 FCFA, or 4,250 FCFA per bag.

The bag of wheat flour is sold at 16,250 FCFA, the bag of improved flour at 16,750 FCFA.

Chairing the meeting, the governor of the region, Serigne Babacar Kane, praised the efforts of stakeholders for this work which made it possible to facilitate the setting of new prices for the most consumed products.

He stressed the importance of raising awareness among the community about the new prices but also of carrying out a strict control operation on the application.

Sankoung Sagna, president of the regional association of consumers, called for rigorous monitoring to guarantee, on the ground, the application of the decisions taken by the regional consumer council.
