Vids, Google’s AI video creation tool, is available. …

A few months ago, Google announced Google Vids, its new AI video generation tool. According to Google, Vids is an all-in-one writing, producing, and editing assistant that helps businesses tell a story through video. Enough to give ideas for use cases such as integration in the field of human resources, training, presentation of new clients, or even product launches.

Google Vids is part of the Google Workplace suite and works in conjunction with Docs, Slides and Sheets. You can try Vids now in two ways: with or without AI.

Vids generates an editable storyboard and offers you several styles. Then Vids builds a first version with videos, images and background music.

The tool can even handle voiceovers with a predefined choice like energetic, calm or relaxed, or you can add your own.

As Vids becomes available, Google promises “a steady cadence” of new features. The company hasn’t set a timeline for a public release, saying only that it will “iterate and refine” the tool through Workspace Labs before making it available to select Google Workspace plans.

Note that the second version of the Synthesia software, which offers identical features but appears to be much richer, was announced last week.
