Roobens Denis, arrested in Portugal in February, was repatriated to Canada. He is due to appear tomorrow at the Quebec courthouse.

The 31-year-old man is a close associate of Dave “Pic” Turmel, suspected of being the head of the Blood Family Mafia (BFM) criminal group. Since his arrest, he has been incarcerated in a Portuguese establishment.

The group BFM is at the heart of a surge in violence in eastern Quebec due to a conflict with the Hells Angels over drug trafficking.

He faces several charges related to firearms and drug trafficking. Roobens Denis is considered a close associate of Dave Turmel, who is still wanted by authorities for arrest warrants also related to gun violence and drug traffickingadd the SPVQ.

According to SPVQTurmel could be in Europe.
