“Our goal is to welcome everyone, to bring together all musical tastes and to introduce new talents from Rennes.” Cédric Bouchu, programmer of the “I’m From Rennes” festival, is delighted to see the event return, for nine days of festivities, from September 5 to 15, 2024. The program remains “rich and diverse”. On the first day, Jerkorama will open the festival with its 1960s Rock and Soul style followed by the duo Flying Bones for “a real sonic high” all in the Skumenn brewery in Cesson-Sévigné which will provide the official beer of the festival.

Friday September 6

Friday, September 6, is the big return of the “secret place”, a concert open to small groups for “better proximity with festival-goers”. The goal ? Carry out the necessary investigations to find the meeting place. An “often improbable” place. The team is also “always looking for unusual places for Saturday September 7”.

Sunday September 8

On Sunday, September 8, it’s Pop that will occupy the Grand Huit in Rennes with the singer François Audrain and his new album entitled “Mélancholia” for a “Release Party”. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Canal B radio, a special Purple Rennes show will be recorded at the Grand Logis in Bruz on Wednesday, September 11, with free access but reservations required. The group Leïla and the Koalas will perform for the radio show, enough to delight listeners and spectators with its Americana tone and folk pop style.

Thursday, September the 12th

Thursday, September 12 will mark the first “Night in Hell” at the Thabor Park in Rennes, with free admission from 6:30 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. In tribute to the Rennes singer Simon Carpentier who died in 2017, the group “Simon’s Brothers” and “DJ Mitch” will perform on stage followed by “Lætitia Shériff” and “KaS Product”, in a rock and electric style.

Friday September 13th

On Friday the 13th, still at Thabor Park with free entry from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., “Astrid Rad” “Comme ça” and “Valise” will take the stage but also the young rapper “Boogie” who “will definitely make your head move », as described by the organizing committee. They will sign the second “Night in Hell” of the festival.

Saturday September 14

Saturday September 14 promises to be particularly busy: it will begin with a “taste, educational and free moment” from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the beer cellar “Le merchant de verre” in Rennes. The beerology course will be followed by the second edition of the “charentaise throwing world championship”. The last “Nuit en Enfer” will take place at Thabor Park from 6:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. where “Jules Ibrahim” will perform, “an artist who spreads joy through his Pop-style songs”, but also the committed group “ Atr! um”, the duo “Albert Jupiter” with a rock and vibrant tone, “Mac & Wester” and their electro style and to end the evening, the DJ “WWW” will mix “to dance and scream with happiness”.

Sunday September 15

Sunday September 15 will mark the end of the festival but also the return of the “Tour de Reine”, a free bike ride through Rennes from 2 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. After blessing the bikes, Father Michel will ride in the DJ trailer, athletes will have to follow it with music to help the calves, 3 stops will be made in Rennes with concerts each. The start will be launched at 2 p.m. from Place Saint Germain and will end at the premises of the La Petite Rennes association.
