It was Louise Cervera’s party, Saturday, near the Mandelieu Nautical Center. The opportunity to chat one last time with the athlete before her participation in the Olympic Games. At 26 years old, the “sailor” is at the top of her form and will try to win a medal in Marseille (from August 1 to 6) in LCA 6.
The young people from the sailing school had the chance to race with their champion for an hour off the Nautical Center. Unforgettable moments for budding sailors and for Louise, who was very moved.
“It was a great moment of sharing. Some of them got on my boat, I have the impression that they really liked it! Transmission is very important to me. I saw them smile and tell me that they want to do like me.”
This is the case of little Ludovic, shy but happy on arrival: “I’m proud to have sailed with her.”
As soon as Louise set foot on the ground, she received applause from the crowd who came to greet and encourage her with a smile.
“It gives a lot of energy. It’s important before a series of training courses and the Olympics. My arrival on the beach is like when you arrive on land and win a medal… My heart is beating Quickly! I can’t wait to get started. I’ve been planning this for over 10 years.”
Louise Cervera will not be the only Mandolocian present at the Games. Mickaël Zézé qualified in athletics in the 4X100m relay with the Blues.
“We will meet again with Mickaël at the closing ceremony, the young woman says happily. And I hope to celebrate my medal with you! Just talking about it gives me chills.”
Finally, the Grasse native thanked the municipality, the department and its partners for their essential financial assistance. (our Grand Ouest edition of Saturday June 29).
Note that in addition to the municipal subsidy of 10,000 euros in 2023, Louise received exceptional aid of 9,000 euros for the Olympics. A breath of fresh air to complete your annual budget of 80,000 euros!
