Several thousand spectators are expected in Savoie for the Tour de France on Tuesday July 2 for the 4th stage (Pinerolo – Valloire)and Wednesday July 3 for the 5th stage (Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne – Saint-Vulbas). Many roads will be closed at the start of the week due to the passage of the caravan and runners. Disturbances are communicated in real time on the site savoie-route.fr. The restriction times below are given for information purposes only. “The closure and reopening of traffic routes is left to the initiative of the gendarmerie services following the progress of the race”, recalls the prefecture.

Monday July 1: early restrictions of stage no. 4

  • Parking ban at the Col du Galibier and the Galibier tunnel (RD902) from Monday July 1 at 6 p.m. until Tuesday July 2 at 6 p.m.
  • The RD 902 is closed at the Col du Galibier near the “Marco Pantani” monument from Monday July 1, 6 p.m. until Tuesday July 2, 8:30 p.m.
  • Traffic and parking ban on avenue de la Vallée d’Or from Monday July 1 at 8 p.m. until Tuesday July 2 at 10 p.m.
  • Traffic and parking ban RD 902 (route du Galibier) between the rue de la Bonne Eau junction and the Vache roundabout from Monday July 1 at 8 p.m. until Tuesday July 2 at 10 p.m.

Tuesday July 2: closures of stage no. 4 (Pinerolo-Valloire)

  • Col du Galibier: RD 902 Closure of the Col du Galibier at the “Marco Pantani” monument from Monday July 1 at 6 p.m. until Tuesday July 2 at 8:30 p.m. in both directions of traffic
  • Valloire: RD 902 – rue de la Bonne Eau – RD 81D – RD 902 – rue de la Setaz – avenue de la Vallée d’Or, closed from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. in both directions of traffic
  • Other disruptions to be expected: traffic and parking ban on the RD 902 between the Chamois roundabout and the Route des Choseaux from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Wednesday July 3: closures of stage no. 5 (Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne – Saint-Vulbas)

  • From Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne to La Ravoire: RD 906 – RD 1006, closed from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in both directions of traffic
  • From La Ravoire to the Col de Couz (Saint-Jean-de-Couz): RD1006 – faubourg Montmélian, rue Jules Ferry, rue Pasteur, rue Plaisance, rue André Jacques, rue Michaud, place Caffe, avenue de Lyon – RD 1006, closed from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in both directions of traffic
  • From Col de Couz (Saint-Jean-de-Couz) to La Bridoire: RD 1006 – RD 203, closed from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in both directions of traffic
  • From La Bridoire to Saint-Genix-les-Villages: RD 203 – RD 921E – RD 921F – RD 36 – RD 38 – RD35 – RD 916A – RD 1516, closed from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in both directions of traffic

Wednesday July 3: other disruptions to expect

  • A43: closure of exit no. 26 “Sainte-Marie-de-Cuines” from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in both directions of traffic
  • A43: closure of exit no. 27 “Hermillon” from 10:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. in both directions of traffic
  • RN201 (VRU): closure of the exits of interchange no. 18 “Chambéry Centre” from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in both directions of traffic
  • A43: closure of the Belmont-Tramonet toll from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in both directions of traffic

The rules to follow to enjoy the Tour in complete safety

  • Several roads will be temporarily closed to traffic. Respect the diversions put in place and follow the instructions of the authorities
  • Do not cross the road and stay behind safety barriers
  • Do not encroach on the roadway to take photos, videos or selfies
  • Do not run alongside runners so as not to risk hindering them or causing them to fall
  • When turning, move away from the road as much as possible
  • Pets must be kept on a leash and away from the side of the road
  • Remember to bring water, a cap, sunscreen and a bag to collect your waste
  • As a reminder, on the Tour route, the use of drones is prohibited
