West Ham United midfielder Mohammed Kudus believes his ability to play in different positions is having a positive impact on the Ghana Black Stars.

After an exceptional first season in England, Kudus played a key role in the Black Stars’ victory over Mali in Bamako (2-1), despite the criticism he received.

Kudus has played most of the season as a winger at West Ham, but was placed behind the striker in the game against Mali last Thursday.

The former Ajax player was not at his best in this match, but he insists he is always ready to help the Black Stars win matches, regardless of his position.

“I am a versatile player, able to play in different positions, and I see that as a positive thing for the coach. Whatever my position, I will do my best for the team. But my best position is attacking midfielder, and that’s the one the coach gives me here, so I have no excuse not to perform well. I will do my best in every match.”he said during the pre-match press conference against the Central African Republic on Monday.

After its victory against Mali on the third day, Ghana challenges the Central African Republic in Kumassi this Monday on the occasion of the fourth day of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
