HDF Energy, French leader in the development of hydrogen infrastructure, is taking a new strategic step in Morocco with the launch of a major project in the Dakhla region. Named Nasem Sahara Morocco (NSM), this ambitious project aims to develop a green hydrogen production plant, intended to revolutionize the local and international energy landscape.

The first phase of the project plans an annual production of more than 200,000 tonnes of green hydrogen, exploiting the exceptional solar and wind resources of the Dakhla region.

“With more than a decade of expertise in the field of hydrogen, HDF Energy’s vision finds its perfect fit in Morocco’s favorable environment”underlines Damien Havard, CEO of HDF Energy and member of the official delegation which accompanies Emmanuel Macron during his state visit to Morocco.

This initiative is a continuation of HDF Energy’s commitment in the Kingdom, which was previously illustrated by the Melhy project in Mohammedia, a massive underground hydrogen storage plant. “Investment in the southern territories of Morocco represents not only an industrial opportunity, but also a major contribution to the sustainable economic development of the region“, says Damien Havard.
