Hectic start to the morning in the 8th arrondissement of Lyon. Incidents broke out around 8 a.m. this Thursday, October 10 in front of the Lumière high school located on Boulevard desUnis. The facade was targeted by firework mortars.
Elected officials from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region announce they will travel to the school at 2:30 p.m. after this violence.
The police intervene quickly
The circulation of TCL trams was temporarily cut, according to information from Progress. The Rhône prefecture tells us that the police intervened to disperse the authorsquickly putting an end to these acts.
On site, the situation was quickly under control. There was no arrest. The prefecture is monitoring the situation “carefully with the rectorate and firmly condemns this violence which will not go unanswered”.
A week after the violence in Vénissieux
This incident comes only a week after the violence which occurred in front of the Marcel-Sembat high school in Vénissieux, at the entrance to Lyon.
A car on fire, projectile jets and mortar fire aimed at staff were noted that day. Numerous videos have circulated on social networks.
Two minors were arrested last Thursday. These two students from the Marcel-Sembat high school, aged 16 and 17, were indicted and placed under judicial supervision.
