If it's winter and the time is not the most suitable for cycling, Sunday backpackers should be wary of their biclou. This Friday, January 17, 2025, Rappel Conso warns of a recall of bicycles from the Lapierre brand, a French bicycle manufacturer.
There is a risk in using these bicycles. “Research has shown that certain Lapierre bicycles equipped with an aluminum stem and cleat present problems with the carbon fork,” specifies Rappel Conso.
If the fork is damaged, this can potentially lead to a crack.
Bikes sold since 2021
Concretely, not all bike models are affected. The list can also be found via this link.
Around fifteen models from two ranges (Aircode DRS and Xelius SL3) are affected as well as frame kits (that is, just the bike frame without the wheels, brakes, etc.). The list of frame kits can be found here.
-Also, it is important to note that bikes sold since 2021 and until 2023 are concerned. Lapierre also specifies that “Lapierre Xelius SL3 bikes equipped with a Lapierre carbon cockpit are NOT part of the recall”.
What to do
If your bike is affected, you must contact an authorized Lapierre dealer near you. The list can be found here.
They will check if your bike is part of the recall and if so, they will replace the fork as soon as possible.
If there is no reseller near you, you must contact Lapierre customer service.
