1 Several collaborations
With C, XOXOCamila Cabello, former singer of the group Fifth Harmony and fan of recurring collaborations, invites several artists on her different songs, giving her new album a variety of styles and sounds. 2 His fourth studio album
In a few years, Camila Cabello was able to emancipate herself from the group Fifth Harmony (to the point of leaving it), with several singles produced alone and three studio albums produced: Camila (2018), Romance (2019) et Family (2022).
C, XOXO is thus her fourth studio opus and testifies to the artistic and musical progression of the singer, since her debut on the show The X Factor in 2011. Camila Cabello has built her career in full awareness of her Cuban heritage, mixing diverse musical sounds and working with the greatest international artists.
3 A new artistic era?
In 2022, just after the release of FamilyCamila Cabello left Epic Records to join Interscope Records at Universal. C, XOXO is thus the first record produced by this new label and could serve as an artistic renewal for the singer, especially after the mixed reception of Family.
The singer thus presents it as a look at the unpredictability of life and the impossibility of having all the answers, a source of comfort and strength, but also of weakness and questioning. Camila Cabello does not forget her roots and initially considered C, XOXO like a return to the sources, before the artistic creation and the evolution of the singer transformed the album into something else.
