IT decision-maker Rolf Olmesdahl has taken over as head of the Core Banking program at Julius Baer. He previously served as CIO at Credit Suisse and Raiffeisen.
Rolf Olmesdahl has accepted a new position at Julius Baer. He has held the position of Core Banking Manager since the beginning of January 2025, reports the specialist site Finews. He was previously IT manager for Credit Suisse’s Swiss operations.
Rolf Olmesdahl will be responsible in particular for the renewal of Julius Baer’s Core Banking system in the accounting centers in Switzerland and Guernsey. In his new role, he will report directly to the bank’s COO, says Finews, referring to an internal communication from interim CEO Nic Dreckmann.
Rolf Olmesdahl has worked in the IT sector of the financial sector for over 40 years. He has held several management positions in Swiss banks. Before his previous mission at Credit Susse, he worked as IT manager at Raiffeisen, a position he left unexpectedly at the end of 2021. According to his Linkedin profile, he was CIO of the Wealth Management, Retail and Business Banking department at UBS from 2005 to 2009. Rolf Olmesdahl then held a management position at Zurich Insurance.
