The dog Gromit is saddened by his friend Wallace’s most recent creation: a robot garden gnome equipped with artificial intelligence. When it falls into the hands of criminal mastermind Feathers McGraw, the inventor’s faithful companion must take matters into his own hands.

Inventor Wallace and his brilliant dog Gromit have had quite a few adventures since their first, A Grand Day Outin 1989. The next three each allowed them to win an Oscar.
But since then, the British studio Aardman Animations has devoted itself more to Chicken Run and to Shaun the Sheep.
Wallace & Gromit : Vengeance Most Fowlstill by Nick Park – and Merlin Crossingham –, is the sixth film starring the friendly plasticine duo and the second feature film after The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005). It also marks the return of Feathers McGraw, the taciturn penguin and criminal genius seen in The Wrong Trousers (1993).
When Wallace, always with the aim of “making” his life easier, presents Gromit with his artificial intelligent dwarf – as usual, puns abound – the dog takes a dim view of the arrival of the servant robot. Norbot is ultimately quite caring until the day he falls under the control of the evil Feathers McGraw. The police, however, will suspect Wallace of being behind the attack and Gromit will once again have to save the furniture.
Aardman’s characteristic charm and humor are still as strong as ever. The screenplay by Mark Burton (Madagascar, Early Man) is effective and fun. Frame-by-frame animation (stop motion) is smoother than ever. The music by Lorne Balfe, who takes over from Julian Nott, is superb. And for a generation of Wallace and Gromit fans, it’s good to see these kind characters again after so many years.
However, we wonder if this genre still appeals to younger people. The one next to us, aged 8, clearly preferred the third Sonic. When in doubt, make yourself comfortable with your family with a hot chocolate and enjoy the last days of the holiday vacation by watching this work as sweet as it is comical. Everyone should (somewhat) find something to suit them.
