This MCU parody in The Boys season 4 episode 5

A few days ago, we told you about The Boysand this ambitious project close to Marvel that ultimately never saw the light of day. And speaking of Marvel, it was in the new episode of season 4 released this week that the Prime Video series made fun of the MCU and its multiple Phases.

When The Boys Openly Parodies the MCU

Superhero fans are over the moon now that they can finally experience the sequel to The Boys with the long-awaited season 4. A new season that follows in the footsteps of the previous ones, the Prime Video series being as trashy and crazy as it was at the beginning. Fans are therefore impatient to discover the new episode every week, the latest being episode 5 released this Thursday.

Titled “Watch Out For The Bogeyman, My Son,” this week’s episode once again offered plenty of twists and turns, including a link to season 1 of Gen Vthe spin-off of The Boys. But it was also an opportunity to discover a special event at Vought International, namely the V-52 Expo, a sort of festival dedicated to fans of the company. This is an opportunity for Super fans to learn more about Vought’s future projects, thus giving rise to this sequence which is reminiscent of certain Marvel Studios events.

Indeed, while they present the “new projects of the VCU chronology”, an obvious nod to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), The Deep (or the Fishman in French) announces Phases 7 to 19 from the Vought cinematic universe, revealing a visual which also clearly refers to Marvel Studios.

Additionally, when paused at this time, you can also read the following message in the “General Anecdotes” section : “Vought is expected to launch 32 projects in phases 7-10 alone”thus mocking the growing number of MCU projects in recent years.

With this little reference, the series The Boys reminds us that it parodies many aspects of the most cult superhero franchises, like the Marvel and DC universes.

And to continue on the same theme, find out what this shocking scene from season 4 is that Antony Starr, who plays Homelander, recently returned to.
