On July 9, 2025, the new Superman will be on our screens. Today, it is in set photos that we see him, in the company of Mr. Terrific, played by Edi Gathegi.

It’s a bird ? Is it a plane? No, it’s David Corenswet in the Superman costume, on the set of the homonymous film directed by James Gunn, which will serve as a launch pad for the new DC Universe and will be released in theaters on July 9, 2025.

A little over a month ago, the director revealed the first official photo of the actor in outfit. And it’s an understatement to say that he was clever, because it allows the public to avoid discovering the new look of the native of Krypton thanks to photos stolen on the set, where the absence of calibration pushes a handful of Internet users to bring down the map “cosplay” to qualify what they see.

This may be the case here, because the costume looks much brighter than in the official photo. Even if it’s not Superman but his partner who could attract the most attention: Mr. Terrific.

Seen in the Arrow series in the guise of Echo Kellum, the superhero is played here by Edi Gathegi, seen briefly with gills in X-Men – The Beginning. Real name Curtis Holt, the character turns into a vigilante and compensates for his lack of powers thanks to his great intelligence, his physical skills and the advanced technology he masters.

At this point, we don’t know where he fits into this Superman’s narrative. Nor even if he will return in other films and series of the (re)nascent DC Universe. But these photos allow us to see that his costume will be faithful to the one the character wears in the comic books. And all that remains is to wait and see it in action. With the other heroes already announced in the feature film, Supergirl and Green Lantern in the lead.
