Dakar, July 1 (APS) – The Daniel Sorano National Theater hosted the first concert of the Saint Pierre-Julien Eymard choir of the Saint Joseph de la Médina parish, a moment of communion marking its return to the stage after four years of absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

”After four years without a concert, due to Covid-19, we have decided to hold this return concert which is part of the preparation for the twenty years of the choir which we intend to celebrate in 2026,” declared, on Saturday, the president of the choir Abed Nego Gnonlonfoun.

On the theme ”I can do all things through him who strengthens me”, the choir gave thanks to God and celebrated its godfathers Saint Peter and Saint Paul. The guest of this evening was the Saint Martin de Porrès choir from the Saint Dominique parish of Dakar.

The plays “Battle of Jericho” and a musical based on the story of “Tobit” are among other performances performed on stage by the chorus.

The Saint Pierre-Julien Eymard choir from the Saint Joseph de la Médina parish was created in 2006 and brings together choristers from 15 countries in West and Central Africa.
