The month of April is always placed under the sign of the Panda. For its fourth week at the French box office, Kung Fu Panda 4 proudly maintains its first place in the ranking, regained last week after briefly being overtaken by the last Godzilla. A performance which allows the last part of Po’s adventures to approach 2 million cumulative entries with 1.8 tickets sold in total.
At the heels of Po, the team of journalists from Civil Warwhich, for the first week of its road trip, has already reached second place in the ranking. A record for Alex Garlandincluding the first two achievements, Ex_machina (2015) and Men (2022), had not exceeded 100,000 entries. In comparison, nearly 270,000 curious people came to discover the latest A24 gem last week alone.
The threat of civil war has convinced more than The Ice Menacelatest addition to the saga of Ghostbusters, which leaves its second place to the film by Alex Garland to position itself just behind. With 241,000 entries this week, the “ghostbusters” managed to attract a total of 550,000 spectators. This is better than the 2016 remake, which did not exceed 410,000 admissions, and almost as much as The Legacy (2021), of which this new film could very soon exceed the total admissions.

Another family film from another Bernard (Ludovicthis time), Here and there secures seventh place in this ranking for its first week of operation. With popular figures fromAhmed Sylla And Hakim Jemili as headliners, this comedy whose real subject remains racism convinced more than 150,000 curious people. It’s much less than the last film by the same director (10 more days without mom), which had collected more than 500,000, but it remains an honorable score for Ahmed Sylla, whose latest comedy, Like a princehad only convinced 119,000 spectators.
In a completely different genre, Borgo entered the French box office in eighth place in the ranking. A small, critically acclaimed Corsican film, it attracted a little over 94,000 spectators for its first week, which makes it, for the moment, the second most popular film in Stéphane Demoustier After The Girl with the Bracelet released in 2020.
Second animated film in the ranking, Spy x Family Code: White is far from causing the same enthusiasm as the phenomenon Kung Fu Pandabut still begins its operation in ninth place in this top 10, with 90,921 tickets sold for 297 copies distributed.
Just behind, Paul Atreides continues to resist the invader, but still falls to last place for his eighth week in the rankings. Dune: part two will have convinced only 70,648 spectators this week, but these entries allowed the last film to Denis Villeneuve to exceed the symbolic mark of 4 million.
