Minister of Labor Abass Fall visiting Qatar, to strengthen bilateral cooperation, between two countries united for better management of worker mobility

XALIMANEWS-On an official visit to Qatar, the Minister of Labor, Employment and Institutional Relations, Mr. Abass Fall, accompanied by the Director General of Labor and Social Security, Mr. Karim Cissé, as well as the Director of Employment , Mr. Babacar Sy, held a fruitful meeting this Monday, January 20, with his Qatari counterpart, Mr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri.

This meeting, according to the Ministry of Labor and Employment, made it possible to initiate in-depth discussions with a view to strengthening cooperation between the two nations, particularly in terms of the deployment of Senegalese workers in Qatar. The discussions also focused on the operationalization of the bilateral agreement signed in 2013, with the aim of intensifying collaboration and optimizing the mechanisms already established.

The two ministers explored concrete avenues aimed at improving the recruitment process and strengthening coordination between the parties, while ensuring compliance with international standards relating to working conditions.

Particular attention was paid to reforming the functioning of recruitment offices in Senegal. The discussions focused on legal aspects, as well as rigorous monitoring and control of the compliance of these structures with current international standards.

The two delegations expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the exchanges and mutually congratulated each other on their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. This meeting laid the foundations for lasting and promising cooperation, paving the way for joint projects beneficial to both countries.
