Once again, two thirds of the commune of Sainte-Rose find themselves deprived of water. The cause is the regular malfunction of two out of three production plants. The mayor can no longer bear having to justify himself to his constituents for a lack of maintenance for which he is not responsible. He threatens to file a complaint against the Joint Union for Water and Sanitation Management in Guadeloupe (SMGEAG).

It's a real rant. The mayor of Sainte-Rose, Adrien Baron, finds it unbearable to be attacked by his constituents on the issue of water. Recurrently for four years and the municipality's entry into the Joint Syndicate for Water and Sanitation Management in Guadeloupe (SMGEAG), two thirds of the population have found themselves deprived of water for three weeks. This Monday morning the mayor therefore decided to take stock of the situation on site, accompanied by technicians from the Mixed Union.

The Ravine Bleue station is one of two stations with regular malfunctions. Maintenance leaves something to be desired and is a matter of “do-it-yourself”. So the electrical cabinet is kept open with a makeshift fan placed in front to regulate the temperature. We think we're dreaming! As soon as a malfunction occurs, the system goes “off” for 24 hours. At this rate, the population could indeed run out of water.

In a letter to the President of SMGEAG, Ferdy Louisy, which has reached us, Adrien Baron sweat alerts this untenable situation and the doubts which assail him.

Of the 19,000 inhabitants of this town, there are now 14,000 people who have not had water for 3 weeks… because let's not forget that until now and as usual for 3 years the abandoned people of Cadet , Bone, Duportail, Bis, Cacao and Boucan still have no water for 3 whole days in the week.

The mayor is therefore angry and is even considering filing a complaint against SMGEAG for endangering the lives of others.

To end with your negligence and the lack of solutions for the abandoned people of , I visited a neighborhood yesterday, that of DEBAUCHEE, where the residents have not seen a single drop of water in their taps for 4 months.

Contacted by telephone, the general director of SMGEAG, Marcus Agbekodo announced that he wanted to go there, in turn, this Wednesday, January 22. To be continued.
