When it opened, the Hyères valley golf course offered players the opportunity to play on six holes only. Over the years, the course has expanded allowing fans of this sport to play on nine compact holes. “We bought a 3 hectare plot located behind the clubhouse,” explains Erwan Brot, golf course gardener. “As a result, from nine compact holes, we moved to nine classic holes.” Today, the total surface area exceeds 19 hectares and the course has increased from 1,100 m to 1,630 m. Work has just been carried out to remodel the route. The way is now clear to host regional competitions. “Before, we only had the possibility of organizing departmental competitions. This new course will also allow players to improve their level of play.”
The new route inaugurated on Friday May 16
The inauguration of this new course is scheduled for Friday May 16, 2025. And then, it also had the opening of a luxury clubhouse inaugurated in June 2022 with its bar “Le 10”, with a garden surrounding it. magnificent and a mini-golf course on artificial turf. But the rise in quality of the Hyères valley golf course does not stop there.
More staff
This expansion will also have effects on staff level. The “pro” of the structure, Lénaïc Besnoux, who could not find enough hours to devote to the operation of the Carhaix golf course, will soon be replaced. A person with the status of golf director will take over. She will be present four days a week and will be responsible for the development of the structure and will devote more hours to the operation of the golf school. A second gardener will assist Erwan Brot.
We will see very soon if all these improvements bear fruit. The objective of Claude Prigent, golf boss, being to achieve a balance. For this, he estimates that the number of members must be 200. For the moment, some 140 members attend the structure. The Carhaix golf course has today become a small business which contributes to the preservation of the landscapes and charms of this beautiful Hyères valley.

The 3rd round of the Winter Pitch and Putt Trophy will take place on Saturday, January 25 (shotgun start at 2:15 p.m.). Organized by the Carhaix golf sports association, this trophy began on Saturday November 16. The 2nd round took place on Saturday December 7 and the 4th is scheduled for Saturday February 8.
