The services of the Ministry of the Interior, in collaboration with all ministries, administrations and stakeholders concerned, announced that they have taken the necessary emergency measures through a general mobilization of all logistical and human resources, in order to provide support and assistance to citizens in the face of the cold wave affecting several regions of the Kingdom, in execution of the royal instructions of King Mohammed VI.
In a press release sent to Hespress FR, the Ministry of the Interior explains that the Walis of the regions and the governors of the provinces concerned have been called upon to mobilize to monitor the evolution of the situation, coordinate interventions and take action. necessary preventive measures with the aim of “relieving the burden on the populations, in accordance with royal instructions”.
It is noted in this context that a command and vigilance center has been activated at the level of the Ministry of the Interior, as well as regional vigilance and monitoring committees.
This year the national plan developed for the 2024-2025 winter season saw the addition of 185 new douars, notes the same source, adding that “particular attention was paid to the populations of areas affected by the effects of the earthquake as well as by recent floods.
In total, the plan targets a population of approximately 872,778 people spread across 169,134 households, living in 2,014 douars in 241 territorial communes in 28 prefectures and provinces.

Efforts also involved distribution operations of food aid, blankets and firewood to targeted populations in the provinces concerned, rapid intervention to save populations finding themselves in critical and urgent situations, as well as insurance the continuity of road and telephone links in the affected areas, and the management of the distribution of fodder for livestock in the affected areas.
