Processing and delivery times for packages within Canada have returned to normal, Canada Post said on Tuesday.
Guarantees of on-time delivery have thus resumed and are in force for items deposited as of January 6, 2025, the state company indicated in a press release.
Although Canada Post has caught up in processing parcels across the country, including in rural and remote areas, it continues to process “high volumes of mail.”
“We continue to process accumulated Domestic Transaction Mail items in addition to new deposited volumes. We must therefore continue to expect delivery delays of several days beyond our service standard for transactional mail, such as letters, invoices and statements,” it was specified.
When it comes to processing mail and packages from abroad, Canadians should still expect “a delivery delay of several days.”
The Crown corporation thanked Canadians “for their patience […] while [Postes Canada s’efforçait] to restore [les] operations safely while managing the high volumes of the holiday season.
