The Friends of Walking clubchaired by Francis Dapvril, met in Ussy (Calvados), near Falaise, to draw up a flattering assessment of its various meetings.
“In 2024, we carried out 24 outings in Calvados and Orne for a total of 213 km and an average distance of 8 km,” relates the president.
The club has 43 members for an average participation of 23 people on each hike.
Friends of the March meet all year round on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month. “We welcome occasional hikers.”
Two outings on January 7 and 21
In a friendly atmosphere, members meet for a meal at the restaurant, an annual picnic and a backpacking trip. This entire program is renewed for 2025.
During the meeting, the president took note of the resignation of Yolande Laprune-Méaule. “The club can continue with a president-treasurer and a secretary.”
Without a candidacy for the position of treasurer, “the 34 people present voted unanimously for this solution”. The new office decides to maintain contributions at €18/walker and €2.50 for occasional workers.
Before having a friendly drink, the participants meet for the first two outings of the year scheduled for January 7 in Saint-Germain Langot, departure in front of the community hall at 1:30 p.m., and January 21 in Épaney, departure at 1:30 p.m. in front of the village hall.
