At the start of the year, the elected officials of Pinel wanted to remind the population of the possible risks of landslides concerning properties on the edge of the Lot: “The edges of the Lot of our associated municipalities are located in a rather wooded area, with , for the best located land, direct access to the river. They have attracted numerous individual house construction projects. But as idyllic as it seems, these landscapes are not without some drawbacks. »
Certain constructions are “potentially in zones of flooding and bank instability (high hazard for bank instability, and low to major hazard for flooding). But also in landslide areas (medium or high hazard). » Concerning this last risk, the prefecture communicated a report. “The banks of the Lot have historically been subject to numerous landslides and erosions,” indicate the elected officials.
More recently, a resident's garden and building suffered damage during a major riverbank slide. “In view of this risk, it is appropriate not to increase, compared to the natural state, runoff on the ground and water infiltration in areas at risk. The rainwater outlet and the location of the individual sanitation system must be chosen so as not to aggravate the risk for neighboring land. »
Impact on construction
Elected officials also specify that in “high hazard” zones, no new construction will be authorized. Extensions will be prohibited or limited in area and height. And subject to the carrying out of a geotechnical study. » In medium hazard zones, buildable areas will be limited to “already urbanized areas. New constructions and extensions will be authorized subject to the completion of a complete geotechnical study,” indicates the municipality.
These recommendations, as well as the entire report, can be consulted at the town hall during opening hours.
