Cardiovascular diseases represent the second cause of death in France, accounting for 147,000 deaths each year. They constitute the leading cause of death among those over 65, particularly among women who are believed to be protected until menopause and by their natural estrogens. New lifestyles (stress, tobacco, pills) have largely changed the situation. After studying the symptoms, which are often atypical, Gérard Fourneret will focus on the specificities of coronary heart disease in women and will emphasize the importance of prevention.
Wednesday, January 29, at 6:30 p.m., at the Champagnole library. More information on 03 84 53 01 08.
Dam, dam
After The Wild Calla free adaptation of a novel by Jack London into shadow theater, the Jura Collective Projet D takes on the subject of water and the iron and concrete buildings that obstruct it. An idea whose source is located on the shores of Lake Vouglans. On a large puppet stage, each imposing puppet – inspired by the Japanese Buranku – comes to life under three pairs of hands. That of a teenager, who came to visit her father on the shore of an artificial lake, or of a fisherman, an activist from the start, who fought in vain against the installation of the reservoir. Animals, tits and fish mingle with humans, brilliantly made with noise by a musician who, live, combines electro and percussion. Without ever being moralistic, locally anchored while subtly addressing the collapse of all living things, this fable opens the floodgates of a formidable “conscious imagination”.
